The position is located in Cincinnati & will work a Flex/Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week on-site. Relocation assistance is available to qualified candidates.Purpose:The Project Head will report into the PPMG (Product and Portfolio Management Group) and be the DRI responsible for delivery of all aspects of their NPD program, driving cross-functional collaboration, creating a unified results‑driven team, and raising issues to Platform leadership, as necessary. This role requires strong collaboration skills and partnership with R&D, Global Strategic Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance. The role also requires strong technical expertise in medical device development including a strong understanding of global regulatory and clinical requirements.You will be responsible for:<ul><li>Accountable for end‑to‑end execution and delivery of their New Product Development (NPD) program, including scope, schedule, and cost.</li><li>Owns Communication of the program status, including program planning, tracking, and risk management, proactively identifying issues, driving mitigation plans, and accelerating progress to meet business objectives.</li><li>Leads cross‑functional program execution as the single point of accountability, partnering effectively with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Finance, and Marketing.</li><li>Establishes and maintains disciplined operating rhythms, including core team meetings and milestone planning, that promote clarity, accountability, and efficient execution.</li><li>Manages the program triple constraint (time, scope, resources) by securing trade‑off decisions, escalating risks appropriately, and resolving cross‑functional challenges.</li><li>Drives decision‑making by developing scenarios, assessing trade‑offs, and clearly communicating implications.</li><li>Champions an inclusive, high‑performing team culture that values diverse perspectives, psychological safety, and shared ownership of outcomes.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelors degree in an engineering or scientific discipline is required; an advanced degree, preferred</li><li>A minimum of 8+ years of New Product Development work experience is required</li><li>Minimum of 3 years working in a regulated industry experience is required </li><li>A results and performance driven demeanor with strong sense of accountability is required</li><li>Demonstrated success leading regulated programs through market introduction is required </li><li>Proven ability to lead and influence across a complex, matrixed organization is required </li><li>Strong capability in strategic planning, execution, and operational excellence is required </li><li>Demonstrated effectiveness in change leadership and navigating ambiguity is required </li><li>Ability to develop talent, build inclusive team cultures, and drive sustained performance is preferred</li><li>Experience in medical device development, including Class II and/or Class III products is preferred.</li><li>Prior experience leading R&D teams, including direct or indirect people leadership is preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of global regulatory and clinical requirements for medical devices is preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated technical depth and business acumen supporting strategic decision‑making and execution.</li><li>Up to 20% Domestic and International travel required.</li></ul>#LI-HybridJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
